The Certified Financial Planner (“CFP”) designation is awarded by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards to individuals who hold at least a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, have compiled at least 2,000 hours of financial planning experience, have completed a CFP board registered program or an alternative designation or degree, have passed a certification exam, and complete a minimum of 30 hours of continuing education every two years.

The Retirement Income Certified Professional (“RICP”) designation is awarded by the American College to individuals who have compiled at least three years of professional experience, have completed three courses administered by the American College including a satisfactory score on a final course exam, and complete a minimum of 15 hours of continuing education every two years.

The Chartered Life Underwriter (“CLU”) designation is awarded by the American College to individuals who have compiled at least three years of full time business experience during the five year preceding the designation award, have completed a total of eight courses administered by the American College including a satisfactory score on a final course exam, and complete a minimum of 30 hours of continuing education every two years.

The Chartered Financial Consultant (“ChFC”) designation is awarded by the American College to individuals who have compiled at least three years of full time business experience during the five year preceding the designation award, have completed a total of nine courses administered by the American College including a satisfactory score on a final course exam, and complete a minimum of 30 hours of continuing education every two years.
