The just-passed $1.2 trillion Infrastructure Bill is awaiting Biden’s signature early next week. As it moves forward to be signed into law, the fate of the $1.75-plus trillion Build Better Act is now of focus. Here is an overview of just some of the numerous items included in the revised proposal:

📌Family and medical leave – Paid family and medical leave for up to four weeks

📌$150 billion for home care – An expansion of home care for older individuals and those with disabilities

📌Agreement to lower prescription drug costs – Allows Medicare to negotiate prescription drug prices in Part B and Part D programs, and limits Medicare out-of-pocket copays, as well as caps drug costs for Medicare recipients at $2,000/year

📌$35 billion for Medicare hearing coverage – Dental and vision are no longer included, however, Medicare will include coverage for hearing aids and hearing tests

Taxes cut: As of now, it appears “the wealthy” have remained largely unscathed by Congress. The “Billionaire’s Tax” was removed from the funding plan, however, I’m not sure we’ve seen the end of things quite yet. Time will tell, so stay tuned.
