Service Advisor

Operating in a client-facing role and under the oversight and leadership of a primary Senior Financial Advisor, our Service Advisors bring scale to the business by assuming the oversight of advisory services for our existing clients. The ideal candidate for this role is someone with a foundation of investment advisory experience with emphasis on client service and who enjoys continual learning, building relationships, and providing fantastic client service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Note: Other relevant duties may be assigned.

If hired for this role, you will…

• Collaborate with the Financial Advisor in preparing, presenting, and implementing customized financial plans for new and current clients of Howard Bailey
• Offer investment advisory services to existing clients under the leadership of a lead Financial Advisor
• Assist clients with annuities, life, long-term care, and managed money/marketable securities while adhering to the Howard Bailey process
• Analyze and identify changes in client's financial matters and recommend appropriate adjustments and new products suited to their financial plan
• Coordinate with back-office operations to support client service functions (document processing, trades, (re)allocations, withdrawals, RMDs, beneficiary changes, etc.)
• Prepare materials for client reviews
• Develop, manage, and retain strong client relationships
• Contribute to meeting team and individual goals

Education and Experience

• College degree preferred, not required
• Must have an Indiana Life and Health insurance license and a Series 65 / 66 or be willing to obtain these shortly after hire.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

A variety of knowledge, skills and abilities are useful in this position. You aren’t expected to excel in all the listed areas, but the ideal candidate will excel or be considered above average in a majority of them and will be willing to learn or grow in the areas that are lacking. Additionally, an appealing hire will have 3+ years of financial services experience with an emphasis on client service.

• Experience in planning, execution, review, and compliance-related matters of annuities, life insurance, long-term care insurance, and managed money products
• Above average mathematical and analytical skills
• A deep appreciation for positive client service
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite
• Knowledge of investment, advisory, and custodial processing systems
• Skills in the areas of organization, prioritization, and fostering interpersonal relationships
• A desire for professional development and personal growth
